The TAMIS (Total Ammunition Management Information System) Requirements module is a web application that provides
calculated and edited training and operational ammunition requirements for every unit and organization within the
Army. It is accessed directly from within the Headquarters, Department of the Army Total Ammunition Management System
(TAMIS) interface. The Requirements Module uses the TAMIS unit hierarchy to summarize training and operational
ammunition requirements from the lowest unit level through every intermediate level up to and including the Department
of the Army level. Army units use the TAMIS Requirements module to review, edit and submit their ammunition
requirements for the following fiscal year to their next higher level unit. At each higher level unit through HQDA,
subordinate unit requirements are reviewed and adjusted, and additional requirements added as needed. After requirements
have been approved at HQDA, the data becomes the starting point for the Army's annual training ammunition authorization process.
Operational ammunition requirements are used by the Joint Munitions Command to program ammunition storage locations and quantities.
In addition to requirements generation, TAMIS Requirements also contains an extensive set of reports and filters that
makes it easy for ammunition managers at all levels to analyze and program ammunition requirements. The analysis
capability is greatly enhanced with the “what-if” scenario tools which allow users to change the calculation parameters
and view new requirements.
